The light gun is the first step in a puzzle designed by Atrus to protect the entrance to the Voltaic tusk on J'nanin. In accordance with the lesson to be learned on the Voltaic Age, this puzzle deals with using energy in one of its varied forms to accomplish the task of opening the door. In this particular puzzle, sunlight is gathered by the light gun and beamed to the focusing lens, which then disseminates the light in a high-powered beam through the puzzle's network of reflection poles.
