The [[D'ni (race)|D'ni empire]] was ruled by a monarchical system from [[1 DE]], after the [[Garternay exodus]], until [[Kerath]]'s abdication in [[6985 DE]]. After that year, rulership was held by the [[Guild Council|Council]].
