Tremal (tremal[contested] was a Guild Master in the Guild of Writers during the time of King Me'erta's reign. He was an outspoken critic of the king's request that the Guild change its oath to relax the restrictions placed on it by King Ri'neref at the founding of D'ni.
His opposition cost him his life, and rumors swirled that he was executed by order of the king's mother, Jolatha. Fortunately, his sacrifice was not in vain. After his death, the rest of the Guild's leadership unanimously refused the king's request, forcing him to back down.
