Gehn's 234th Age was intended to serve as a sanctuary for himself and the Rivenese after the collapse of Riven. Being trapped on Riven with no foreseeable way out made the writing of a sanctuary particularly urgent.  He began writing the age after his 233rd Age proved too inhospitable to support life long term.  Nothing is known about the nature of Age 234, as it was unfinished at the time of his imprisonment in a Prison Book by the Stranger.  It is said though that it was nearly finished.
