The lava chamber on Voltaic is where you heat the air for the airship in the airship dock. There is a platform that you can raise or lower, A movable gear, a fan near the ceiling, Saavedro's Voltaic mural showing the brothers in the glide ship, Saavedro himself, and Tamra, and a larger gear that controls the lava switch.
This chamber could have been controlled from the outside, but when Saavedro stuck a metal wedge in the center, only the interior controls can be used, while the exterior only controls the moving gear.
A safety device on the door keeps people from entering while the lava is on.
