This small, metal spike, capped with a glowing marker bearing the [[Guild of Maintainers]]' emblem {{Dnidings:Guild of maintainers emblem}}, was driven into the ground in every [[Age]] approved by the Guild of Maintainers. Some of these Marks are easier to find than others, and some don't seem to exist at all in the areas to which we have been granted access by the [[DRC]]. While the Maintainer's Marks can be found in all of the [[Journey|Journey Age]]s and the two other [[Garden Age]]s without difficulty, there are no Maintainer's Marks visible in [[Er'cana]], [[Ahnonay]], [[Jalak]], [[Minkata]], or any of the [[Pod Age]] pods. | |||
According to the DRC, each Mark acts as a sort of [[Great Zero|Mini-Zero]] for the [[KI]] Positioning System (KI-PS), with the angle of the radiant of the Zero aligned with the Age's magnetic north. As in [[D'ni Cavern|D'ni]], coordinates are set from this point, and will indicate changes in distance, angle from North, and elevation in the KI-PS. At this time, the KI-PS system is non-functional outside of D'ni. | |||
