In 4954 DE, there was an explosion that killed 78 D'ni and 400 natives. The explosion was caused by a combination of gases—one naturally occurring, the other brought to the Age by the D'ni. An investigation into the blast conducted by the Relyimah was stymied by a mole within their ranks working for one of the isolationist cults popular at the time. Some suggested that it was set off intentionally[1], and two members of the One D'ni cult were eventually proven guilty of causing the explosion. The ultimate result of the blast was an increased push by the D'ni public against outsider involvement.
