Following the DRC's taking of his neighborhood, Douglas Sharper pays an evening visit to some explorers and discusses his ongoing conflict with the organization. Additionally, this marks the beginning of the phrase "path of the shell" thanks to Jeff Zandi.

Thanakar: Heya, Doug.
Moiety Jean: He is here! Welcome, Mr. Sharper!
Douglas Sharper: Hello.
an'nie: Hi, Douglas.
Thanakar: No Journey shirt, Doug?
Shawnzy: Hi, Douglas.
attila: Shorah, Mr. Douglas.
Thanakar: Why aren't you wearing the hand shirt, Doug?
Douglas Sharper: I'm not sure. I just wanted to wear something plain today.
Moiety Jean: Understand that feeling. What brings you to our Hood?
Douglas Sharper: Did you all hear the news?
Frolain: Yeah, Brian was by earlier.
Thanakar: Yes, the DRC has gone too far. You were not harming anything.
Douglas Sharper: How many of you are upset about the DRC's recent decision?
Thanakar: I, for one, am.
attila: I am. They have no right to do this.
Douglas Sharper: Have you posted such on the forums?
K'Huunah: He's on top of the fountain...
Thanakar: The DRC took his tree pub and his Hood away from him.
Frolain: Did they really close the pub again? I haven't been back to check.
Douglas Sharper: They took my pub and they took my Neighborhood.
Moiety Jean: I only just heard that they took away the Egg Room again. The pub, too?
Douglas Sharper: Yes, the pub, too. It's a sad day.
Moiety Jean: I wish we could all be enlisted to help clean the pub.
Thanakar: I, for one, am very upset by these heavy-handed actions of the DRC.
Douglas Sharper: You can all be enlisted to give me back the pub.
Moiety Jean: The damage looked bad, but it could be fixed...
Douglas Sharper: That is not the Great Tree Pub. That is the Kahlo Pub. Now, they must hear that people are upset. You must communicate if you disagree with their decision.
Moiety Jean: Which is the one on Ae'gura?
Thanakar: The one in Ae'gura is the Kahlo Pub.
Frolain: If you have no Hood, do you want to join ours?
Douglas Sharper: I do not know that I am going to join any right now. I have no reason to bring the DRC's wrath on any other Hoods.
Thanakar: All that are supporting you are joining together and signing a list and we are going through the Hoods voicing our displeasure.
Douglas Sharper: Excellent. Hopefully the DRC will see that there are those who will not tolerate such action.
Frolain: Good point. But, it's a much greater action if they were to do it to a larger Hood.
Douglas Sharper: True.
an'nie: Do you have any thoughts on yesterday’s conversation with Engberg?
Douglas Sharper: I didn't hear about the conversation. What was it?
Thanakar: Party line propaganda.
an'nie: Well, typical no answer kind of deal.
Thanakar: It’s how he found out about your Hood and private room.
Douglas Sharper: That and Zardoz.
an'nie: He contradicted himself quite a bit.
Douglas Sharper: Did you read the post of this Zardoz fellow?
Thanakar: Which one?
an'nie: Regarding what Phil is doing now.
Thanakar: He's posted several.
Douglas Sharper: This anger about not getting into the Hood. Watson seemed to like it. What rubbish. Pitiful.
an'nie: Can you create a new Hood?
Douglas Sharper: They have taken away my ability to do so right now.
Thanakar: Ouch. The DRC does seem to take satisfaction in thwarting you.
Douglas Sharper: My KI is "damaged".
Frolain: I didn't know they could do that...harsh.
Douglas Sharper: And I'd rather not now anyway.
Frolain: Anything else broken about it?
Thanakar: What’s to keep them from doing the same to us?
Douglas Sharper: Nothing.
Bad Speller: Nothing.
Douglas Sharper: For those who argued that I was doing the wrong thing, maybe they'll enjoy no private rooms.
Thanakar: Total control is not a good thing.
Douglas Sharper: I agree.
Thanakar: What is that saying...absolute power corrupts absolutely?
Frolain: Do you know how they are controlling this aspect of the KI?
Douglas Sharper: Laxman magic.
K'Huunah: (laughs)
Bad Speller: Magic?
Douglas Sharper: Ha.
Frolain: Figured as much.
Thanakar: Same way they knew Tink had contacted Phil.
Douglas Sharper: They control more than you think through the Nexus. It's their answer to Relto.
an'nie: I have other concerns about our KI.
Douglas Sharper: They control the Cavern for the most part. With or without Yeesha.
Thanakar: There should be a way to bypass the Nexus. So far, we only need it for the City.
Frolain: Can they get to private Ages and Reltos?
Douglas Sharper: None of them have used a Relto book that I'm aware of. Too dangerous. Ha.
Frolain: Wow, so weird. Their definition of dangerous is more askew than I realized.
Douglas Sharper: Well, look at the private rooms. Were they dangerous?
an'nie: Do you think our messages on our KI that are private are really private?
K'Huunah: Dangerous to their control, not to us...
Douglas Sharper: Hardly, an’nie. I would not doubt they have some way to listen to all messages. I have no proof but I would not doubt it.
K'Huunah: I think we can say nothing in the Cavern is private.
Douglas Sharper: That's why they closed the private rooms.
Thanakar: I don't think anything you send via the KI is private.
an'nie: Yes, that’s what I think.
Douglas Sharper: They were one of the few places that were secure. Of course, that didn't go over well with them.
Frolain: Are we sure even they’re secure?
Douglas Sharper: Fairly. I've done "tests".
Thanakar: ...in the year 2525...
an'nie: Maybe that’s why the delay. Maybe they are trying to make it so they can hear?
Douglas Sharper: Maybe.
Frolain: If I read Teek's log correctly, it seemed they could hear him sometimes. I thought they couldn't.
Thanakar: What are you going to do now, Doug?
Douglas Sharper: The private rooms are secure. I'm almost sure of it. More than anything else. I'm going to wait and see what the people do.
Thanakar: We are doing what we can...trying to gain support.
Douglas Sharper: I'm afraid my future is in your hands for the most part.
attila: Is there any way we can get the private rooms back?
Douglas Sharper: The DRC will not even speak to me. I have tried.
Bad Speller: What can we do?
Douglas Sharper: I'm fearful of getting kicked out altogether if I'm not careful.
Thanakar: You are powerless. Phil is in captivity. I guess it is up to us.
Douglas Sharper: I have to be careful right now.
an'nie: I think we should get an Egg Room open and you need to stay inside there as much as possible out of their reach.
Douglas Sharper: Unless they know that people are behind us, I'm afraid I can't do much.
Thanakar: What about Zandi? He posted a message at the DRC site.
Douglas Sharper: That sly devil. Ha!
mischivus: I'm in for that.
Thanakar: A message that was quickly covered up.
Douglas Sharper: I could use a good dose of Zandi right now. Watch the DRC flip out.
Thanakar: Seems they did.
Douglas Sharper: I hope he has something planned.
lost pupil: What did Zandi say?
From Mystlander: They must be Private Chat!
Thanakar: I don’t have the exact message.
Douglas Sharper: Another of his strange vague messages.
Thanakar: I wish I had written it down.
Douglas Sharper: I would bet he has something more coming.
Thanakar: Path of the Shell...
Douglas Sharper: Something about shells, wasn't it? Yes, that’s right, Path of the Shell.
lost pupil: And what is the Shell referring to?
Douglas Sharper: I don't know.
Frolain: Was that the shape Yeesha made at the end of the Journey?
Douglas Sharper: Could you hold on one second?
Thanakar: A closed hand.
Bad Speller: A new Age?
K'Huunah: The quote was, "the gathered will tell of the path of the shell".
Douglas Sharper: I'm getting together some new shirts for those of you who don't have them.
Thanakar: Thanks.
Douglas Sharper: Hopefully the shipment will come in soon. Maybe the jackets will help show support for the Great Tree Pub.
Bad Speller: Thank you.
Frolain: That's cool. How will we know when you get them?
Douglas Sharper: You will just have to check your closet.
Frolain: Ah, I didn't realize it was direct delivery.
Douglas Sharper: Taliametris, long time no see.
Thanakar: If it’s all the same with you, I’ll continue to wear my Yeesha shirt.
Douglas Sharper: No problem, Thanakar. Brian Fioca is trying to encourage those who disagree with what has happened to voice their concerns. Which I encourage him 100 percent. I, obviously, want my pub back. And would like my Neighborhood as well.
Frolain: Glad to hear that you support his efforts.
Douglas Sharper: Very much so. Brian is a good man.
Thanakar: You should stop by and sign his list too, Doug.
Douglas Sharper: Where is it? I would love to.
Thanakar: bbs.fioca.com.
Frolain: I think so, too, I'm just not sure about having so many forums.
Douglas Sharper: Good, I will.
Thanakar: In the forum section.
Frolain: Between UO and DRC, I have trouble keeping up with the new news.
Douglas Sharper: If anyone happens to see this Zardoz, tell him thank you.
Thanakar: I shall.
Douglas Sharper: Thank him for contributing to the removal of my pub, the private rooms, and my neighborhood. I won't forget. I must be going now. Talking to others.
Frolain: Good luck, hope to hear from you again soon.
Thanakar: Strange times we live in, indeed.
Douglas Sharper: Very strange.
lost pupil: Indeed.
Douglas Sharper: Until next time...
Bad Speller: Bye.
Kyven: Shorah.
Taliametris: What did he say about Phil Henderson?
