Pronunciation[edit source]
The pronunciation given for the D'ni apostrophe in the dictionary entries is variously represented by ʔ, ə, and ᵊ with no consistent pattern. Unfortunately it's not clear what the best analysis should be. Since the apostrophe is known to be [ʔ] after a vowel, and ə is already used for u, I've tentatively started standardizing the IPA for the apostrophe as ʔ after vowels and ᵊ after consonants.
