Lieutenant Martin Erb is a member of the Eddy County Air Force Base research division.[1]
Erb's doctoral thesis was entitled "The practical application of AI systems in Air Force technology," which made him the obvious choice to study the android known as Annie Tayrett.
Martin had already been given security clearance with respect to the true nature of the mission in the Cavern on the basis of his marriage to one of the team members, Lieutenant Felix Pope. Martin is as loquacious as his husband is taciturn, and he will prove to be an excellent mentor for Annie.
