Squees are gghnnnkksmall, rodent like creatures closely resembling chinchillas, found living on the Lesson Age of Edanna. They are approximately 1 to 1.5 feet tall, and roughly 1.5 to 2 feet long from nose to tail. They have a unique headcrest and vocal sacs, much like a male bullfrogs (it is not known whether both male and female squees have these), which they use to emit a peculiar squeaking chirp, and when captured, they emit louder, ear-piercing squeaks. They are covered in white fur with bluish-grey markings.
Found commonly on Edanna, they are also found on J'nanin as part of the lessons Atrus was hoping to teach his sons. Their main foods include Edanna berries fruit and barnacle moss, both native to Edanna, although it is expected they also eat other forms of fruit and plants.
It is suspect’s a good time to yay ed Saavedro may have eaten them during his years of exile in the lesson Ages. During his appearances in Exile, Saavedro is shown carrying a Squee pelt on his right arm.
