From Guild of Archivists

To phend Phil, Shorah. Are you going anywhere tonight?
From phend in phend's Relto: I am resting. How are you?
To phend Oh, sorry to bother you. Are feeling okay?
From phend in phend's Relto: Yes. Maybe I will go somewhere now.
To phend Good. I had no chance to meet you in person. Would you tell me where are you going?
From phend in phend's Relto: Where would you like me to go? Do you have a Neighborhood?
To phend I don't have a personal Hood. I'm in Vision (4) hood. Would you like to meet at Maverick?
From phend in phend's Relto: Sure. I'm going there.
To phend Okay, thanks. I'm going there. Will Douglas come?
From phend in phend's Relto: No. He isn't with me.
phend: Hello.
To phend Shorah b'shemtee.
phend: I'm Phil.
To phend Hi, I'm Ayli. How are you doing? I heard that Douglas completed his Journey.
phend: I'm fine. Yes, he did. It was interesting for him.
To phend Was anything new discovered?
phend: I think he learned some things.
To phend Like what?
phend: Only what those who complete their Journey see and hear. But, he didn't know Yeesha. So, now he understands what she is about.
To phend Have you seen anything unusual during your absence?
phend: I was only surprised to find that so many were now in D'ni. When I left there were very few.
To phend Very few of what?
phend: Explorers.
Ayli: Oh, yes, we are growing in numbers.
phend: Today many more have come? When did you come?
Ayli: I would say 11 months.
phend: You've been exploring before the new start.
Ayli: Phil, have you met Yeesha in person?
phend: Yes, haven't you?
Ayli: Well, yes, but she was the only one who talked, I couldn't ask her questions.
phend: She left quickly.
Ayli: Phil, would you like to sit, so as not to expend your energy?
phend: I am okay standing. I have to go soon. Have you seen the Least?
Ayli: Yes, of course, but from afar. You?
phend: Far and close.
Ayli: Did you learn their language?
phend: No. I don't know if they speak a language.
Ayli: Yes it sounded more like a growl. But, all intelligent species develop a language, don’t they?
phend: I don't know. How do you know intelligence? By speech? By action?
Ayli: Communication, building things, society, civilization...If they could organize themselves and fight oppressors, that’s intelligence, isn't it?
phend: Is a single man on an island intelligent?
Ayli starts to laugh.
Ayli: It depends. Maybe he writes on the sand...
phend: To who? Maybe he only fishes and laughs.
Ayli: Hey, you can talk to yourself in extreme circumstances.
phend: Yes. Talking.
Ayli: Well, man is intelligent in general as a species.
phend: Because they speak, and use tools, and build things? The Bahro are not like men.
Ayli: Where did they came from? Which Age?
phend: I don't know, but they are here. Maybe from here?
Ayli: Hello.
phend: Hello.
Ayli: Hello, Moranda.
phend: Hello, Moranda. You are wearing her clothing.
Moranda: Yes, I wear her gift.
phend: How long have you been in D'ni?
Moranda: Long time.
phend: Me, too.
Moranda: How are you, Phil? I have been concerned.
phend: What?
Moranda: Yes...with your coming back and then with Sharper's Journey.
phend: You are concerned?
Moranda: I do not understand where things are going.
phend: No one knows where things are going. Only the Maker knows where things might go.
Moranda: Yes...but so many ideas...who to follow...not sure.
phend: Hello.
Tink: Is Tink.
Moranda: Shorah.
phend: Join us, Tink...quickly.
Tink: Sorry, Phil.
Moranda: Ah, Tink.
Tink: Always look for the lavender.
Moranda: Lavender is good...for Tink.
Tink: What be happening, guys?
Moranda: Not much.
phend: You are not a Maverick...only in that Neighborhood, Tink.
Tink: Oh, Tink be Maverick, alright.
phend: I don't think Mavericks wear lavender.
Tink: They do in DaDungeon! How has Mr. Henderson's day gone so far?
phend: Good. I talked with many people this morning with Douglas.
Ayli: What about, Phil?
Tink: Cool...what did you all say?
phend: Maybe I will wear lavender...I am a Maverick.
Tink: Mr. Henderson, you wear whatever suits you. Maybe lavender sandals?
phend: You call me Mr. Henderson, but most people call me Phil. Why?
Tink: We haven't been properly introduced…and you haven't given me permission to call you by your first name.
phend: Hello, I am Phil.
Tink: (laughs) Glad ta meetcha, Phil!
phend: Nice to meet you, Tink. Can we play the game? I haven't tried it.
Moranda: The game is fun.
Tink: Back to the question? What did you and Douglas say to the others this morning, Tink asks curiously.
Ayli: Oh, yes, lets do it.
Tink: What game? Somebody needing Heek points? I gotta bunch easily won.
Ayli: Yeah, I lost last time I played.
phend: Well, Douglas talked a lot about telling others. Letting others know about her. And some people seemed angry.
Tink: The lady of the Least?
phend: Yes.
Tink: People do that.
Moranda: What did he say to make them angry?
phend: About "sides" and the DRC.
Moranda: Ah, I see
phend: Some want the DRC to follow her.
Tink: Well, some don't like the feeling of being "herded".
Moranda: I do not believe the DRC will do that.
phend: We are all free to choose. It is a gift. But, there are always limits.
Moranda: Agreed.
Tink: I know, but the angry ones don't. Which limits do you refer to, Phil?
phend: But, the angry ones were for the DRC. I would like the DRC to follow her, but I don't know what they will do. Limits in everything, whether in D'ni or on the surface.
Tink: Did they perceive a "threat" to their original benefactors? The ones who in reality started the way to get here?
phend: Yes.
Tink: Well, Phil, keep trying! Talking is good.
phend: For a while. Action is better.
Tink: Ummm...what kind of action?
phend: There can sometimes be too much talk, but then what comes of it?
Moranda: Sounds like my father. He hated all talk and no action.
phend: Is there another Tink?
Tink: Oh, geez, I hope not!
Ayli: I think talk leads to understanding.
phend: Sometimes.
Tink: Ayli is right...good talk does just that.
phend: But, what if it doesn't?
Moranda: Some learn better from seeing.
phend: When children do not learn from talk, then what do parents do?
Ayli: We can learn by studying.
Tink: A different way of saying what you want to say?
Moranda: Demonstrate.
phend: This best way to learn is by following, yes.
Tink: You be a redhead...redheads can think of lotsa ways to do a thing...like talking...and demonstrating.
phend: And if the example is someone who “does” rather than “talks”...this is the best.
Tink: There be three of us here...tell us what you want us redheads plus one to do, Phil.
Moranda: But, if we are to follow, what are we to do, who is going to show us?
phend: Maybe you should do what I do.
Ayli: What is it, Phil?
Moranda: And this is?
Tink: And what is that, asks one who usually travels her own path?
phend: Right now, I am telling about her, to all who will listen. But, after that...we will see who will listen and follow her and see where it leads.
Tink: Tell us three about her.
Moranda: Yes, after the telling. Tell us. Are we to walk a blind path?
phend: I don't know the future, but I know she has plans.
Moranda: I have heard what she said, and I am trying to understand.
Tink: Convince Tink and Tink'll babble it everywhere...right along with you. Do you know anything of her plan?
phend: I am going to wear lavander sandals from now on.
Tink: See, I may be converting you!
Moranda: Now, what of her plans? We need more information, if we are to help.
Tink: Do any include Explorers?
phend: I will play one game if you want to. Do they have a game here?
Ayli: Yes.
Moranda: Yes.
phend: are you all whispering to each other?
phend: I can’t hear you
