If you are as indecisive as I am, then you have spent more time searching through streaming apps for something to watch than actually watching anything. If you are isolating with your significant other, you have also heard the phrase "I don't care, you pick" many times. I think that if you are anything like me, you are inQuarantine, sinking into your couch, being a sad, isolated lesbian, desperate for some gay shit to consume. If you are staring wistfully out the window and pretending to be in the movie Carol, stop and look at the sad lesbian movies and TV shows. The movie is about a woman named Gia Carangi who is a model. The movie tells the story of one of the most recognizable queer women of our time.
A Couple Of Men
Their friendship is at risk when a new guy is introduced to them. This movie will make you cry if you like to laugh. The two women decided to spend 24 hours with each other to see if they can do better in their relationships.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, translated as how I felt when I saw that girl, is a coming of age romantic comedy drama from India. The story of forbidden love was told in Disobedience. I think that this is a way of including queer women in movies who aren't identifying as lesbian. It was named the best LGBT film of all time in 2016 and it is a good one.
Lesbian Movies From Foreign Countries
Jamie Babbit's But I'm a Cheerleader is one of the best movies of all time. This is the movie that all the others on this list should watch, because it features a group of people who are both drag queens and straight men. Megan is a cheerleader who is completely oblivious to her homosexual tendencies.

Over the years, a small selection of lesbian romance films have captured that exact energy, delivering a nostalgia that only summertime can conjure. The selection shown is meant to reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community with lesbian, gay and queer performers. There will be discussions that go beyond the film themes to explore queer film culture. For a total of eleven days, beginning on March 10, 2022, film lovers can experience a diverse program either in the theaters at Ketelhuis or online, in the comfort of their homes. The best lesbian films of the past year will be included in the next edition. Tig is not a lesbian movie, but more a documentary on the life of Tig Notaro, after losing her mother suddenly and then finding out that she has bilateral breast cancer.

According to GLAAD, queer representation in TV is at an all-time high. In the last five years, we have seen a steady stream of films with positive storylines and leads. Many are coming out of big studios and streaming giants. This film, led by brilliant trans writer/director Campbell X, is an honest, timely and chaotic story about London based wedding photographer, JJ; her best friend, Seb; and her whimsical witty love interest, Elle. Sometimes the films of David Lynch are cold explorations of the alien. Sometimes, his films are warm, lovingly crafted odes to small town people.
Summerland
The critics pointed out that this shouldn't be described as one of the most romantic lesbian movies, but one of the most romantic movies ever made. Carol is a sumptuous film that fully conveys the joy and pain of longing. It tells the story of an unlikely romance between a timid shopgirl and a wealthy and sophisticated woman.
Lesbian Teen Movies
The limits of a relationship are tested by a woman who studies butterflies and moths. A writer in the British countryside takes in a young boy during the London Blitz. She tells a story of her lover in college, a young woman who eventually broke her heart, as she tries to bond with the boy. Jack and Diane is either the best film ever made or the worst. A romance horror flick featuring Ted Lasso's Juno Temple, Riley Keough and Kylie Minogue, this film puts its own twist on your typical coming of age story. An award winning Sundance film, Pariah follows the life of a 17 year old Black teen learning to navigate her sexuality and define her identity as a butch lesbian while dealing with familial and societal pressures.

Inclusivity is on the rise. It is surprising to see so little of the actual lesbian characters and so much of James Corden in a lesbian movie. A group of Broadway stars comes to the rescue to arrange a prom for everyone. This feel good, diverse and inclusive lesbian movie is what we love about it. I think the movie put too much attention to the problems and not enough on the beauty and resilience of the lesbian love story. Summerland tells an interracial lesbian love story that has not been shown before.
Tell Your Friends
An English professor, who hasn't yet explored her sexuality, to Reno in 1959 and becomes attracted to a free spirited Cay. Donna Deitch's film deserves to be called a trailblazer because their connection only gets more affecting as it deepens. Carol is a film about an older woman navigating a difficult divorce and a forbidden affair with an aspiring female photographer. Watching the effects of homophobia and a jealous soon to be ex husband on their relationship is heartbreaking and the pure melodrama of it all will get you in a state of melancholy.
There is still a need to fill the gap when it comes to lesbian movies despite the increase in queer representation in Hollywood films. Straight men are not talking about inauthentic representations. Lesbian characters are just as messy and chaotic as heterosexual ones and even lesbian superheroes, so we want lesbian love stories at the front and center. Mae Martin is the author and star of the new series Feel Good. In the pilot, she meets George , a "straight" girl who ends up falling for Mae. The duo U Hauls immediately begin a spiral down the toxic lesbian rabbit hole of death.
There is an attraction when Mia and Frida meet for the first time. Here we have a dark British comedy that is unlikely to be appreciated by everybody. Mulholland Drive is a psychological thriller that will keep you on your toes all the way through, a far cry from your typical lesbian film.
'carol' Is A Word
This is a movie about an African lesbian love story. We would love to see more movies with happy endings for lesbians. A wealthy woman and a department store clerk have an affair in this must watch film. Adapted from the cult classic The Price of Salt, it shows how romance can change your life. There is a realistic portrayal of the relationship between Wil and Vivian and the complicated mother daughter interactions are also done well.
