The heek (hEK) was a weapon similar to a rifle, powered by explosive pellets. Gehn rarely parted with it during his visits to Riven.
The word "heek" is written in the schoolhouse, to tell the children what Gehn would do to them if they misbehaved.
This device should not be confused with Ahyoheek, which explorers often refer to as "heek".
