Jura was a Guild Master in the Guild of Healers who was called to help tend to the ailing infant Gehn. He diagnosed Gehn's illness, but was hesitant to prescribe a remedy for the condition, because the child was not fully D'ni. Without bothering to test Gehn, he concluded that his stomach problems were the result of his mixed D'ni and human ancestry and that it would be difficult to treat him.
His callous attitude and his dismissal of Gehn as "unnatural" and "a hybrid"[1] angered Ti'ana, and when he told her that her son would be better off dead, she forced him from the house.
