Samantha Ferguson is an airman in the US Air Force security forces. She is part of the initial support personnel sent down to the Cavern at the beginning of the Mission to D'ni.
It is Ferguson who finds the "D'ni text book" that allows Thomas Maxwell and Alex Jung to proceed with their writing experiments.
