Tarpin shal (also known as drop claw) is said to be Negilahn's most famous creature. It preys by dropping down on an unsuspecting victim. They hang from high branches, and can be hard to see[1].

Oocha para is a young tarpin shal, it also dangles under trees. The tarpin shal life cycle is connected to the gahtsai.
