Eden tree

Found in Edanna

The only known example of this species of tree grows from below sea level, and makes up the entire known dry landmass of the age of Edanna. The tree has grown into a hollow lattice of branches and woody mass, and the interlacing branches within the lattice provide shelter and support to a wondrously varied series of plants, which in turn has led to an entire ecosystem in the tree's branches.

Much of the tree itself appears dead, and it has no visible means of photosynthesis or reproduction, suggesting it is in symbiosis with it's inhabiting plant system. In order for Edanna's delicate ecosystem to evolve, the tree must be centuries old and due to survive several more.
