Stone Eater was the first of the Great Diggers, colossal tunneling machines used by the Guild of Miners. It was built in 3469 DE by the initiative of Grand Master Namen.
Stone Eater was joined by Stone Tooth in 5359 DE, to clear an area for Uran, a new industrial district meant to replace Nehw'eril. Later, they were assigned to dig a tunnel connecting the D'ni City with Ae'gura. The plan was later dropped[1].
During the reign of King Rikooth, Burrower and Stone Eater were used to expand the tunnels past the Cavern[2].
