Dr. Marie Sutherland was the Director of Field Work for the DRC during the Second and Third Restoration of D'ni. As part of her duties to the DRC, Marie was responsible for Restoration Phases Three and Five.[1]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Dr. Sutherland was born in 1962 in Paragould, Arkansas and received a Doctorate in Anthropology from the Southern Illinois University before entering the teaching profession. While in this profession, she became friends with Dr. Watson.[1]
Second Restoration[edit | edit source]
Dr. Sutherland joined an expedition to D'ni for the first time in 1993, before becoming a founding member of the DRC in 1997. During the Second Restoration, she could often be found in the neighborhoods and Ae'gura, as well as accompanying Dr. Watson.[1] She left the cavern along with the other DRC members when the DRC lost funding in 2004.
Third Restoration[edit | edit source]
When the DRC returned to D'ni in 2006, Dr. Sutherland retook her old position in the DRC. During this time, she seemed to be the unofficial press agent for the DRC, bringing news to explorers about happenings within the DRC. It was Dr. Sutherland who initially announced the DRC's desire for explorer liaisons, though she and the DRC remained largely silent about the process while the election debate was going on.
Dr. Sutherland was also reportedly working on the restoration of Eder Delin.
