Common Libraries were buildings that held linking books to Ages that anyone, not just the elite, could access. There were also private areas with blank books (KortEnEa, korteeneea), where writers could produce these Ages.

The first common library was constructed during the reign of King Ailesh in 233 DE, and was opened on Leefo 12.[1] The opening of the first common library was the first time the commoners had been given access to other ages.[1]

There were several common libraries in D'ni by the time of the Fall (including the library on Ae'gura),[citation needed] and most people fled to these Ages when the destruction came.[citation needed]

The Common Library in the J'taeri district was visited by Atrus and Gehn to find kortee'nea.[citation needed]
