The Lodge was Anna's first home, located on Earth somewhere near the Cleft and Tomahna, where she lived with her parents (whose names are not known) after relocating to New Mexico from Europe. Shortly after her father's death, Anna decided to explore the nearby fissures that appeared in the desert, which led her to D'ni, leaving the Lodge empty. Years later, she returned with her husband, Aitrus, and their son Gehn, for a visit to the surface shortly before Gehn's induction into the Guild of Books.
After the fall of D'ni, Anna and Gehn returned to the surface, but did not move back into the Lodge, because Anna wanted a new beginning in a place that wasn't full of troubling memories. Its remains have not yet been discovered.
