The Riven Journals was a website, launched in 1996–1997, featuring a series of puzzles called the Riven Journals.
It was a teaser and promotional material for Riven: The Sequel to Myst, which was due to be released in 1997 and the fans were itching for information.
Cyan's publisher at the time, Red Orb Entertainment, contracted Organic Online to create both the Riven Journals and the Riven.com website.
