Gehn's lab

Gehn's lab was a laboratory and study owned by Gehn on Riven's Crater Island. It was here that Gehn undertook various experiments and studied the nature of Riven.
Most notable of Gehn's experiments was an attempt to perfect a means to create Descriptive Books and Linking Books, an effort which culminated in the creation of the Age 233 descriptive book, five linking books to Age 233, five linking books to Riven, and unintentionally contributed to the creation of the Tay descriptive book and a sixth linking book to Riven. These efforts were evidenced by the furnace in the middle of the room, which Gehn used to destroy his failed attempts.
The room also contained aparatus for demonstrating or studying the thermophobic properties of Rivenese water. A glass bulb containing said water was placed above a heating element which when activated would drive the thermophobic water towards the top of the bulb, thus demonstrating the water's ability to seemingly defy gravity in an attempt to avoid heat.
Along one edge of the room was a desk, upon which sat Gehn's lab journal, among other implements.
